I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona, where I’m passionate about plant science, sustainability, and advancing inclusion, diversity, and equity in STEM. I completed my undergraduate studies here as well, and I have a deep connection to this institution and its surrounding community. My research began during my undergrad, when I started studying CEPR1—a nitrogen-responsive receptor involved in long-distance signaling between plant roots and shoots. I’m excited to continue this work in the Beilstein Lab, where we’re exploring CEPR1 through an evolutionary lens as part of the CROPPS initiative. Outside the lab, I hike, grow a wide variety of ornamental and edible plants, and train in aerial arts.
